The business was started in 1982 by Cyril and Derek Bartlett who were doing electrical work out of their truck. They were later joined by their wives, Pauline and Madonna, to help set up and manage the retail supply store. They all worked at the company until their retirement in 2018. The store initially sold plumbing, electrical, and hardware supplies.
