Our Process

All of Bowerman's work represents meticulous attention to detail-brought to life by expertise and teamwork. Craftsmanship is always at the helm. Our professionals, most of whom carry their Red Seal certification in joinery, interpret and execute with care. Before any project begins, a portfolio of drawings are produced to support both client approval and shop production. The intricate details are managed in-house, including design, manufacturing, and finishing.

Bowerman's hosts the only fully enclosed cross-draft finishing facility in the Sea-to-Sky region. Designed to accommodate everything from automotive to fine wood finishing, our spray booth enables expert finishers to complete each project so that your furniture and millwork will last a lifetime. Locally Sourced Materials Wood as equity is a main tenet of our company. We make a conscious choice to use local materials for our furniture and millwork.

Our Story

Rick Bowerman's introduction into joinery and furniture began with early Canadian antiques. While restoring each piece by hand, he learned the difference between a well-crafted piece made from hardwood lumber and those of a more primitive design fashioned from recycled material. Yet all had their own stories to tell, inspired by someone's passion, care, and attention to detail. Rick was determined to create his own line of furniture imbued with the same quality and craftsmanship characteristic in the antiques he had restored. Hence, the beginning of Bowerman's Handcrafted Furniture, where traditional design, meticulous attention to detail, and a sense of history permeate every piece.

Today

Bowerman's continues to be a thriving business. Creating and building custom cabinetry and furniture requires a village. With a strong team of journeymen cabinetmakers and designers, we move seamlessly between traditional and contemporary design. Under Bowerman's roof, old-world Japanese joinery techniques are employed alongside modern technology to produce pieces that not only stand the test of time but also meet the demands of contemporary living.
