At Bidgood, we are a premier design studio based on the West Coast of Canada, founded in 2011 by Creative Director Kyla Bidgood. Our practice is dedicated to creating spaces that blend the lines between design eras and styles. Our Services
At Bidgood, we take the time to get to know you and tailor our design to your unique requirements, lifestyle, and taste. Our design process is research-heavy, with a deep discovery stage that unlocks your style and opens up a world of possibilities. We believe that every space should be a reflection of its occupant, and we strive to create unique and meaningful interiors that are anchored in thoughtful, tactile experiences.
Our Process
Our design process is simple and integrated:
1. Programming and Schematic Design: We kick off the project with research and discovery, creating a space programming and area calculations, site analysis, and floor plan and base building analysis.
2. Concept and Design Development: We further develop our concept, design direction, and floor and ceiling plans, sourcing and selecting finishes, fixtures, equipment, and hardware. We collaborate with other licensed professionals in architecture, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering as required.
3. Pricing Package Documentation: We prepare pricing drawings, including demolition plans, floor plans, interior door schedules, interior elevations, electrical mark-up and reflected ceiling plans, and millwork drawings, to a 80-90% level of detail.
4. Construction Documentation: We prepare construction drawings, including demolition plans, floor plans, interior door schedules, interior elevations, electrical mark-up and reflected ceiling plans, millwork drawings, and millwork sections, to a full level of detail.
5. Furniture, Artwork and Accessories: We inventory items to be reused, create furniture layouts and budget, curate new furnishings, artwork, and accessories, and prepare purchase orders and arrange delivery and installation on site.
6. Construction Administration: We attend site visits to review progress, review shop drawings and submittals, respond to queries, and provide supplemental information throughout the construction phase.
