Our History

Nicholson Sheffield Architects was founded in 1984 by Desh Malhotra. Over the years, the firm has evolved and grown. In 1987, John Nicholson joined the firm as an associate and became a partner in 1990, when the firm was renamed Malhotra Nicholson Architect Inc. In 1995, the firm began working with local school boards, and in 2000, Jim Sheffield became an associate of the firm. In 2008, the firm started working on health care projects, and in 2009, we began working with the Italian Seniors' Project, a non-profit community group. In 2015, we completed the Info-Tech London Accordion project.

Our Team

Our team is made up of talented architects and technologists with diverse skills. We are led by Principal Jim Sheffield and Founding Principal John Nicholson, who remains a member of the leadership team and advisor to the firm. Our team is committed to producing award-winning designs for projects of varying size, budget, and complexity.
