Established by Linwood Giberson in 1962, the company began as Dartmouth Salvage, buying and selling metals on Canal Street in Dartmouth. In 1979, Peter Giberson, Linwood's son, founded Dartmouth Metals and Bottle Ltd, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the company's journey. Over the years, the business has evolved, growing to employ over 40 people locally and selling materials within the Atlantic region, across Canada, and to foreign markets.

In 2003, David Giberson, Peter's son, joined the company full-time, bringing fresh ideas and a new perspective to the business.
